Phone Provisioning

Wouldn't it be nice if your customers could just take the phone out of the box and plug it in? They can - choose from our three options below!

Basic IP Phone Provisioning

Consists of the following deliverables:

  • Load base configuration that may include:
    • FTP/TFTP settings
    • DHCP settings
    • VLAN settings
  • MAC addresses and serial numbers via email or retrieved online through Command Central
  • Provide plug-and-play connectivity to on-site provisioning server

Enhanced IP Phone Provisioning

Consists of the following deliverables:

  • All basic provisioning deliverables
  • Connection to the customer provisioning server (contingent on provisioning server connectivity)
  • Connect IP phone to customer provisioning server for full provisioning
  • Phones are fully configured, functional, and tested before shipping to ensure out-of-box reliability

Labeling

This last option is the same as above, but the Custom Configuration Center is also able to print a label with the following information: MAC address, name, serial number, location, and the extension for each specific phone. Labeling the outside of every box with this information is very convenient and ensures delivery of the right phone to the right place.

What we need from you to get started:

  • Determine protocol being used (FTP, TFTP, or HTTP)
  • Supply provisioning server IP address, username, and password

VoIP Provisioning Terminology:

  • MAC address- The ethernet hardware address of the phone; it is not the same as the IP address (you can also access this number on your ScanSource Communications invoice or through Command Central)
