ScanSource Partner Tour Rolls into London

ScanSource Europe, a leading pan-European distributor of automatic data collection, EPoS and mobility
solutions, as well as voice, video and data communications solutions kicked off its 2012 Partner Tour at
The Brewery on Chiswell Street, London recently. The UK leg of the distributor’s roadshow event was the
first of ten to take place across Europe throughout the year.

Partners from the communications and barcoding spheres came together at the event, allowing resellers
to meet key vendor contacts, network with ISVs and other potential partners, discuss business with the
ScanSource sales and support teams, and learn about the ScanSource tools that can benefit their
business.

The event featured separate breakout sessions focusing on the auto ID, communications and retail
markets, covering industry trends and market conditions, while also highlighting areas of opportunity in
each sector.

Reseller attendee Matt Read, Business Development Manager at Vista Retail Support, said, "Our team
had a great day at the Partner Tour in London. It was a fantastic opportunity for us to catch up with some
of the latest developments in the auto ID and retail sectors. We also caught up with some old friends and
made some new ones. From our point of view, the event was extremely worthwhile and confirms our
decision to maintain an ongoing relationship with ScanSource."

Exhibiting vendor partners also saw the value in being a part of the event.
“We managed to have some rather in-depth conversations with resellers,” said Chris White, Elo
TouchSystems Regional Manager, UK & Ireland. “It’s meant we’ve been able to generate some promising
opportunities in the interactive digital signage arena with these customers and you can’t ask for more than
that. The face-to-face time has once again proven crucial to forming and facilitating partnerships.”
In addition, Avaya, a leading global provider of unified communications, real-time video collaboration,
contact center, networking and related services, joined ScanSource the morning of the event to hold a
special Avaya session for resellers.

This commercial training was dedicated to ScanSource’s Avaya resellers and covered the entire range of
Avaya solutions, beginning with an overview of IP Office and opportunities in the mid-market space,
moving on to the ACM space, including a demo of Avaya Flare and the opportunity that Session Border
Controls present, and finishing up with a training on Avaya Data Networking Solutions.

“It was great to attend the ScanSource Partner Tour in London and share part of Avaya’s Data
Networking strategy with attendees,” said Mark Jones, Networking Channel Account Manager, Avaya.
“We received particular interest in our new SME focussed ERS 3500 series of switches and have some
immediate new opportunities that we are following up already. We are looking forward to supporting
future ScanSource partner events and together helping an increasing number of resellers with their Data
business.”

Exhibiting manufacturers at the Partner Tour were Avaya, Honeywell, Intermec, Motorola, ShoreTel,
Datalogic, Epson, IBM, Zebra, APG, Datamax-O’Neil, Elo, GTS, Interquartz, Oak Telecom, PioneerPOS,
Plantronics, Seagull and Socket.
