It’s no secret that the hospitality industry is booming. Valued at nearly $10 trillion, the industry employs one in eight Americans, and within five years, a jaw-dropping 10 percent of the planet’s population may be employed by the industry. So, what does that mean for resellers? In short: enormous potential. From advanced near field communications technology and scannable payments to a plethora of IoT-enabled devices, the channel is sitting atop a figurative goldmine, as long as they have the tools – and the network connectivity – to mine it.

Contactless payments: think RFID cards, Apple and Samsung Pay, and smart watches. Depending on where you are in the world, you’re either familiar with and comfortable using the technology, or you’re reluctant to even give it a try. So, why the geographical differences? Chances are high that one’s willingness to utilize contactless payments stems from their government’s decision, or lack thereof, to embrace near field technology (NFC).

The number of U.S. employees who work remotely is on the rise, largely due to advancements and improvements in unified communications (UC) systems. In fact, a 2016 Gallup survey found 43% of respondents worked from home at least once in the last year, and the U.S. Employee Workforce report cited a 115% increase since 2005 in the number of workers who worked from home at least half of the time. So, why the rise in popularity? It turns out that the ability to work remotely benefits not only employees, but the company, too. That’s why having a discussion with your partners about the implications of working remotely represents an investment in their business and in their human capital.
