APG Cash Drawer, LLC is a privately held corporation based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our cash drawer company manufactures a broad range of high-quality cash drawers and other related products with thousands of domestic and international customers.
Our Beginning
APG began in the early 1970s when two employees of UMI Company Inc. (UMI) designed and developed a steel cash drawer. In 1978, APG was formed as a separate company for the assembly, marketing and sales of the cash drawer product line.
Our Expansion
At the end of the first year, our cash drawer company had ten employees and leased a 7,000-square-foot space in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. As the business grew, APG eventually expanded to 14,000 square feet at that location. In the fall of 1993, plans were made to move APG Cash Drawer and the Atlas Manufacturing painting facility, a sister company, into a 40,000-square-foot building. This facility has been expanded to 60,000 square feet and is now dedicated solely to APG's manufacturing. In 2008, UMI sold its shares to a group of private investors and the APG Management team, and the company became APG Cash Drawer, LLC.
