What is CCTV: Closed Circuit TeleVision – It is a television system that is connected by cables to designated monitors. It is not used for “broadcasting” and is a method used for remotely monitoring an area or areas with cameras.

There are three essential factors that people must understand in order to sell into this market or any new technology market for that matter. They must:

Understand the technology
- Know how and why products do what they do.
Understand the relationship
- Who owns whom? (Honeywell – ADI)
- How do the goods flow? (direct, distribution, rep-firm)
- Who makes the decisions? (IT, security director, president)
Know the buzz words (speak the language)
- TLA’s (three letter acronyms)
- “System Integration”, “IP Security”, Biometrics”, etc…
